Lunch Options, Combinations, and Policies

An opening grocery package is included in your fee for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It will include: milk, coffee, cookies, cereals, bread, pasta, cream cheese, tomatoes, olive oil, water, soda, juice, and a good bottle of local wine for the first day. This package should last for the following day. We like to offer our guests this package at the beginning of their visit because it allows us to spend more time cycling and doing activities, rather than going shopping. If you prefer to buy your own food, please let us know in advance.

The accommodations have proper kitchens, so guests may cook their own food at home. Some of our staff members may help with the cooking and, in case of barbecues, may help in organizing the event.
We ask that guests keep the house clean and in reasonable shape.

Barbecue

There is one large barbecue available at our cozy base at Monte Argentario. It is located just outside our spacious Spanish Chalet (see Lodging). Upon prior agreement it can be made available to all guests, as the surrounding patio quite large. For barbecue meals, guests will be responsible for purchasing their own food, with transportation to local stores and markets available.

Weekend Fees

Please note that our prices do not include airfare or travel to Monte Argentario. Our fee is 325 Euros per person for a weekend visit (Friday until Sunday). This includes: accommodation, bike rental and cycling tours, as well as meals for the first night and for the remaining two days (please see above). Other costs (e.g. fees for golfing, tennis, or other activities) will be at the guests' own expense.

We are happy to pick up our guests at the railway station of Orbetello-Monte Argentario, just a short drive from GiroSchool's base and a quick (and inexpensive) train ride from Rome. Students below 25 years and seniors above 60 years will be offered a discount.

Transportation to Giroschool from Rome Airport (Fiumicino)
  • Trains: In order to reach GiroSchool from Fiumicino Airport, catch a train toward Downtown Rome and stop, if possible, at Roma Ostiense. There is also the "Leonardo Express" train directly to Roma Termini (the city's central train station). From Roma Ostiense or Roma Termini take the regional train in the direction of Pisa Centrale. Please stop at the Orbetello-Monte Argentario railway station and we'll pick you up upon arrival.
  • Shuttles: Unfortunately, airport shuttles directly to Orbetello are quite expensive and should be arranged with prior notice for a minimum of 5 people in order to be affordable. Some local companies charge in the range of 350 Euro per trip.
Thank you for your interest and we look forward to biking with you soon!
